Pensacola Fishing / South Again Charters / 22 Sept 2013

What a WILD weekend! Great Friend Hallie and I teamed up to fish this weekends Pirates of the Lost Treasure tourney out of the GLYC. The weather both days was horrible with funnel clouds in the Sound and very high winds both days.

We really hoped that by fishing in these conditions we could get on the board early and maybe take home a few checks. Saturday we stayed close to the launch and managed to catch a few mid range Redfish, a few small Mangrove Snapper and a good Flounder.

Sunday morning the winds were blasting out of the ENE at what seemed like 100 knots. We decided to launch to the West and fish close to the ramp. We had an amazing day, we had a great limit of Redfish by 0800 and went in search of other species. Within another 2 hours we had 4 Flounder and several snapper in the box and were once again off in search of another species.

I have a handful of Bay Grouper spots and we decided to hit one of them just to see if we could catch a legal Gag. 2nd bait down Hallie hauled a really nice Grouper off the bootom and we were off in search of Spanish. After boating two nice Spanish we hauled butt to the weigh in to beat the 3 pm deadline.

After the smoke had settled and the checks were signed, Hallie walked away with 1st Pplace Grouper / 2nd Place Snapper / 2nd PLace Flounder / 3rd Place Redfish

We fished very hard and it payed off for us this weekend. Thank you so much to the PLT crew for continuing to put on a great tournament. We enjoy fishing it every year and will be back in 2014 for sure!

Perdido Key Inshore Charter / 21 July 2013 / South Again Charters

We are still battling windy and rainy conditions here is Pensacola, but if you change up your game a little bit there are still some great fish to be caught. Today the Garcia Men joined me for a quick 4 hour trip, we quickly started catching fish and caught fish almost everywhere we stopped. Very fun day with another great Family!

Pensacola Beach Fish / South Again Charters

Great morning trip with some really nice Snapper! Today the Cole Group joined me for a quick 4 hour snapper trip. We ran for a while looking for the right spot, but once we located it...it was on!! We had a really nice grade of Snapper including a 14llb, a 12lb and a few other really nice ones! Throw in a Gag Grouper and you have a great 4 hours of fishing! Thanks for fishing with me Guys and I hope to see you again soon!


I wish the afternoon bite would have been as good... Local angler and Fishing Forum Member Torrey Island Kid joined me for a 4 hour afternoon trip. With big hopes we ran stright offshore and hoped to catch a few giant Snapper. We could only seem to manage a few smaller keepers. We decided to cut our losses and head back in and try to hook a few Flounder. We had a good tide but only boated one Flounder. It was a fun trip, just not the most productive!

Warrior Challenge / South Again Charters / 30 June 2013

Amazing trip today! As some of you may know, last year I ran the Pensacola Marathon(26.2 miles) while wearing a 50lb ruck sack and military boots. I ran the marathon to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.

I had no intentions of running it again... until a few of my Ranger Buddies heard about the effort and wanted to take part. Mike Hack and Gerald Nelson are the two Rangers that wanted to pursue the effort again this year and volunteered their time and bodies to the cause as well. Today Mike, Gerry and our amazing Marketing Director Hallie Burnett joined Dawna and I on a quick trip to catch a few snapper and discuss a few ideas about how to raise more money this year!

Great day on the water with some great Friends and a pretty good fishing trip as well!

Another flat, hot day on the Gulf and more beautiful great Snapper fishing. Today the Flowers gagng and I headed offshore, I decided to go a different direction than I have been fishing most of the year and it payed off really well. We caught tons of nice Snapper today. Amberjack on light tackle, Mangrove Snapper, Mingo Snapper and LAnes. We also lost a couple giant Snapper that we hooked up near the surface but just couldn't get em turned. Thanks again Guys for fishing with me and I will see you again next year.

Interesting inshore trip today... Thought I had the fish all figured out and WHAMMO, they throw me a curve ball. We ended up having to switch gears and start targeting some different strucuture to put some fish in the box. At the end of the day I think we had a respectable box of fish for an Inshore Trip in June!

Pensacola Redfish / South Again Charters / 17 June 2013

This mornings trip with Mr. Taylor has to be one of my all time favorites!! It was a bit to rough to hit the Gulf so we started out wih the standard fare. Hit the Pass, hit the North Rocks, you know.. the normal spots. The Bonito were on the surface an I mean EVERYWHERE!! Mr. Taylor showed some interest in catching one so we rigged up a few rods and headed over to a large school...

After about a 4-5 minute fight, Mr. Taylor ask if we could do this for the entire Charter.. HECK YEAH we can. So off we went, we chased schools of Bonito for 5 straight hours, catching and releasing who knows how many! What a fun trip, It just goes to show you that sometimes just catching a ton of fish and having a great time out weigh the amount of fish you put in the cooler..

Thanks for a great day Mr. Taylor and I can't wait to chase BoBo's with you on Friday!!!

Hard WSW winds this afternoon made conditions a bit tricky but the Odom Men and I got it done! We caught a Kepper Snapper and a few Flounder in the PAss and then ran back towards town and were able to catch two slot Redfish and another flounder!

Not bad for a quick 4 hour afternoon trip!

Perdido Key Snapper Charters / South Again Charters / 14 June 2013

Another two great Snapper trips today...

This morning started out a bit windy but it was out of good direction and let us get a little ways out in the Gulf to grab a quick limit of Snapper! We also caught a really nice Gag Inshore before blasting off for the Gulf. Thanks to the Rutherford Family for fishing with me again and look forward to seeing you Guys again soon

This afternoon was a special trip for me. The Landrum Family are very close Friends of mine and I love spending time with them! We headed out into a slick calm Gulf this afternoon and went to work on the ARS!! We caught them on bottom, we sight fished them off the top, we light lined them. It was a great trip with one of my favorite famalies!! Thanks Ryan and LaLa for spending the afternoon with me!!

Quick 5 hour trip this morning with perfect weather and calm seas... does it get any better? Headed East with the Guys this morning and before we knew we had a box of ARS and a handful of really nice Mangroves. Switched gears and put 3 kinds in the boax nad had a 706z spooled with 65lb Braid get spooled... What an exciting trip! Thanks for fishing with me Guys and I hope to see you again .

Pensacola Deep Sea / South Again Charters / 12 June 2013

Hey Guys gonna make this report short and sweet... kinda tired! Two great trips today, both targeting Snapper. We had a great two boat trip this morning with good Friend of mine Capt. Shawn Mistovich of PM3 charters. we quickly caught a two boat limit of ARS and some really nice Black Snapper to boot.

Afternoon trip was a little sloppy so we slowly eased our way out to the spot and were once again lucky enough to find em biting! Snapper fishing has been really good...

All fish are being caught on frozen Menhaden and butterflied Ruby Lips and White Snapper. Seems like the fish are very responsive to chum and will come with in range of a freelined bait as well!

Pensacola Guide \ South Again Charters \ 10 June 2010

Rain, sleet, hail or snow.... Hallie wasn't gonna let me say no!! Today I was joined by a good client and great Friend Hallie. She had plans of trying to place a fish in the Pensacola Beach Marina Snapper tourney.

With big seas and local storms we decided to stay in the Bay and hope to find a gem. We fished hard and caught a ton of nice Snapper but couldn't find a 18lber to be able to beat the big boats out for the daily award. We did how ever manage to catch several fish over 8 lbs and two close to 10 for Hallie to take home. Another great trip with Hallie and more proof that there are some great Snapper in our bays!!

Pensacola Beach Red Snapper \ South Again Charters \ 8 June 2013

Sloppy seas and a quick 4 hour trip.. no problem! After catching a few live baits we eased our way out into the Gulf this morning. We caught a noce little 34" Cobia to start our morning and then started to work on the Red Snapper. Wwe boated 8 nice fish fairly quickly and headed back in. We stopped in the Pass for a few minutes to try and catch a Bull Red but no dice today!

Pensacola Fishing | South Again Charters | 7 une 2013

The Hendrix Family made the trip back to Pcola this year and decided to fish with me again. I am very glad they did.... we had a great trip. We ran a few miles out in the Gulf to start and caught a quick limit of Snapper, including one 14lber.

We then hauled butt back inside the Bay and caught 4 keeper Flounder and 3 legal Black Snapper and 8 Redfish that were all a little bit to short to keep.
