Pensaola redfish!

Great day on the water today. Today was my day off and my good buddy Bryson recently purchased a new boat. So we decided what better way to spend the day then sight fishing some redfish!

With the winds barley whispering we launched the boat and headed out in search of something to set a hook too. The days was amazing… we managed to hook and land 20 Redfish and 22 Trout…. thats not counting the probably 20+ other Redfish that we spotted and could not get to eat our artificial lures! All in all an amazing day in the water with a good Friend doing what we both love to do! Thanks Bryson for taking me fishing and Guiding me to a great time!!!

Pensacola Beach Redfish

Another fun filled day today! Today was a bit of a slow bite, but we hung in there and managed to get a nice box full of fish! We started out looking for King Mackerel but seemed to have just missed the bite by about 30 minutes or so! Moved to the Pass and managed to hook four Bull Reds and a few Snapper! Throw in the Flounder and a few slot Redfish and you’ve got yourself a decent box of fish!

A pretty good day on the water with a great couple of Guys!

South Again Charters / 25 April 2012

 

After a little lull in charters and some bad weather it felt GREAT to be back on the water today! The Bradshaw Group was in town for a conference and were ready for some fun. We loaded up around 1pm and headed towards the Pass. I was afraid the Gulf was gonna be a little to snotty with the stiff WSW blowing but it was easily fishable. After catching a few baits we set off for an area that has been doing well so far this year for Kings! First bait was in the water 12 minutes and we were on. That remained the theme for the duration of the trip. We boated 3 Kings near 20lbs and lost three more boatside and landed several nice Spanish before it started to get nasty. We stopped back in the bay and managed to catch a dozen or so Bay Snapper a Flounder and got worked by a nice Bull Red! Pensacola Red Snapper

Ran a "For Hire" trip today with some regular clients of mine aboard their 25' CC. We bottom fished most of the day and had a blast catching Jacks, Trigger, Snapper and several other reef fish! Didn't take a lot of pictures today so I apologize. Here are two of the Red Snapper we did photograph today. Snapper season opes June 1st so make sure and start booking your trips today! Gonna be a really short season again this year so days will go fast

Pensacola King Mackerel

The winds did not wanna cooperate today but me and the Milam Men got it done. The plan was a 4 hour trip focusing on Mackerel and trying to finish up on a few Sheepshead and some Bay Snapper! The King bite was on fire this morning and we hooked and caught several very quick. We lost a few large fish as well that we just couldn't seem to stop. We did not worry to much about live bait this morning and found that fish had no problems with the dead cigs behind dusters.

After messing with the Kings for a while we came back into the Pass to find a very slow bite and a very stiff wind making drifting the Pass very difficult. We did manage to stick a few Sheepies and a nice large Redfish and decided to call it a day and make the run back to the launch! All in all it was another great day on the water with some great Guys! Thanks to J.P, Max and John Scott for a great day in the water and I hope to see you Guys again real soon

Pensacola Snapper Fishing

The bad weather yesterday caused me and the Riesgaf Men to reschedule our trip till today! Good thing we did, the weather looked a little sketchy this morning but soon cleared and gave us the chance we needed to get out and fish. Mike, Nick, Jared and I started our morning in the Pass looking for a cooler full of Sheepshead. We were greeted by hungry fish and a much larger grade than usual as well! It seemed like a lot of the smaller males are starting to move off the rocks and the remaining fish are the larger Females! After getting all we needed in the box and the winds really starting to howl out of the West we headed back into the bay to fish a few Bay Wrecks and see what we could catch. The first stop we caught Snapper on every single drop! About every third Snapper was a good solid fish with one topping the 9lb mark on a trout rod! All in all today was a great day with some great Guys and some not so great weather! Thanks again to the Guys and I hope to hear from you again soon!

Pensacola Spring Break Fishing

What a gorgeous day on the water! Today I had the pleasure of fishing Zachary, Brett, Trey and Scott. These Guys are down from Indiana and were looking for a good time and a few fish to take home for dinner! That was an easy enough request so off to the Pass we headed. We started boating fish on our first drift! After boating around 15 Sheepies we went in to catch and release mode. We released a few more fish and then decided to go look for something a little bigger in the surf. We were able to find several large Sharks including one Bull Shark that probably weighed close to 200 lbs and a few Spanish. With a box full of fish and a happy crew we headed back towards Galvez landing! Another great day on the water with some fun Guys!

1 April 2012 - Coughlin Trip

What a fun day. Today I spent the day on the water with some great friends! Tony, Brandy, Jolene and Donnie all joined me for a 5 hour trip today to Pensacola Pass. With perfect conditions and blue bird skies we shot towards the Pass. The bite seemed to be fairly good, not as good as it has been in the last few weeks but plenty enough action! We caught around 25 Sheepshead and two beautiful redfish one of which actually fit inside the slot!

With the incoming tide and the variable winds it seemed to confuse the drift a little from time to time but everyone seemed to be handling it very well and we got to watch a lot of beautiful fish being landed! Tony is one of my closest Friends and it was a pleasure to be able to take him and his Family out for a little fun on the water! I think I had more fun watching them catch the fish then they did actually catching them!

Once again our paradise home shines!!
