Pensacola Fishing / South Again Charters / 29 April 2013

Today was an interesting day to say the least. I had a double today and the two trips were some of the tougher I have had this season!

This morning was a fun trip with some really great Guys out of Missouri... We started out looking for some slot reds and after hitting several different locations found what we were after. We spent a good bit of time trying to locate a few Specks but found nothing but troublesome pinfish!!

Seemed like the flats were just dead.. very little bait activity and the water was a bit murky.

This afternoon was a very tough trip... None of my redfish spots seemed to be working and the winds were howling out of the SW around 22 mph. With the winds whipping and the reds not cooperating we really had to dig to find a few fish.

We managed to catch an undersize redfish and a few cats, but it wasn't until time was almost up that we managed to catch 3 Flounder. Needless to say it was a huge sigh of relief for me to not have to end the day on a skunk!!

Not the best trip but we stuck it out and found something that wanted to bite!

Antoher great trip today.. Man I hope the bite stays hot for a while! Today we only had time for a quick four hour trip together so we launced a bit early. We left out of Shoreline at 0600 and went to catch a few Slot fish before spending some quality time trynig to catch Bulls.

We managed to boat 4 Slot fish really quick and broke off another 3 or 4... Se we decided to head towards the PAss. First drop was a quick hook up with a 22lb Bul!! I really thought it was about to go off!!

After a quite a few more drifts and a few Small Grouper and Snapper to show for our efforts it was time to go! All in all a great trip with another great group of Guys!

Pensacola Inshore Fishing | South Again Charters | 26 April 2013

Hard East winds today forced us to change our plans up a little bit. We fished Canals, Bayous and Leeward flats all morning today and had pretty good results. We managed a nice limit of reds and a few Flounder... only one was legal. We also managed to catch a handful of undersized Trout and had a great shot on a giant Black Drum... It wasn't what I had planned or wanted to do for these Guys, but the fish still bit for us!

Pensacola fish | South Again Charters | 25 April 2013

The bite is still on FIRE here at Pensacola Beach!! Today the Guys joined me for a 6 hour trip. With the high winds this morning I was a little skeptical what we would be able to target, but everything seemed to work out perfect.

We fished a wide range of areas today and found luck in all of them. We managed Redfish and Trout on the Flats... MAckerel along the beaches in the Gulf and cought Sheepshead in the Pass.

If this weather will ever get right.... The fishing here is going to be on fire!

Thanks Guys for fishing with me today and I really hope to see you again soon

Pensacola Inshore Guide | 24 April 2013 |

What an amazing day with the girls!! Today Dawna and Shelley joined me for a quick scouting trip. With a nice string of trips lined up the Girls and I took off to make sure I could still find em.

The Sheepshead bite is all but over but the Mackerel are here in force!! We could have set and caught them one after another! The bite on the flats in the Sound is also heating up.. We managed a nice trout and 6 Slot reds in 6 cast. I let the Girls keep four and we headed off to greeneer pastures.

All in all a great trip today and it really felt good to see a few silver macks come over the rails... I LOVE catching them Mackerel!

Pensacola Fishing Charter / 20 April 2013

Today Mr. Peter and I decided to hide from the winds and fish the SOund. We started out throwing plastics on the flats and targeting some of the deeper docks. After a slow morning of catching a few small Reds and losing a few small fish we finally found pay dirt.

Once we found the spot Mr. Peter caught slot red after slot red for about a solid hour. We managed to boat 18 slot fish and broke off and loss another 6-7! It was an unreal bite!!! Seems like the reds are all still in their big Winter time schools so if you are fishing the flats and aren't finding them...... KEEP LOOKING!!

ONce you find em you'll have more then you can stand! Looks like some better weather on the way towards next weekend so I should have several days worth of new reports for you soon!

Pensacola Fishing Report | 16 April 2013

Every Spring my good Friend Bryson and I go on a sight fishing trip to start out the year! Bryson is a hard core tournament Guy and is a really good fisherman. We launched at 0630 and by 0830 we had boated 5 really nice slot reds and lost one on the hook set..(oops, shoulda cheched my knot)

The winds were blowing so hard out of the ESE we decided to put the boat on the trailer and try again another day. Either way it was another great trip with Bryson and proof that the REds are back on the Flats and ready to chew!

Pensacola Fishing report | 13 April 2013

I really enjoy running these "for hire" trips and Mr. Harry and I have been on quite a few together now! We left out of Shoreline at 0630 aboard his beautiful 21' Triton Bay! We were joined by Mr. Clay and were in search of Sheepshead and Bull reds!

The bite started just a little bit slow, but once it fired off it was every drop fpr an hour or so. We did not land a bull red today but did hook a monster that got the best of us!

Thank you Mr. Harry and Mr. Clay for letting me spend the day with you and I'll see you again in May!

12 April 2013 / Perdido Key Fishing Report

I was lucky enough to spend the day on the water with two of my great Friends from Texas today! Ryan and Laura came over for a visit and we managed to get out this afternoon after the winds died.

The bite really good in the Pass, we caught quite a few sheepies and Bulls and even hit the flats and tried to sight fish a few slot reds. We did see a handful but only caught one decent trout for our troubles.

Since Texans don't eat mullet I felt I had to break out the net and get them a few to try! All and all a great trip on the water with two of my closest Friends! Thanks for letting me show you Guys my home today!!

10 April 2013 / Pensacola Fishing Report

Despite some tough winds and pretty conditions in the Pass... the Jones crew and myself got it done! We hit the Pass with some pretty good rollers coming in from the SE but managed to fill the boat with fish. We only hept enough for dinner but kept a running count of how many we boated.

At the end of the trip we had boated 58 Sheepshead! The bite seems to still on fire, just no telling how much longer it's gonna last!

Sorry for only posting one photo, it was pretty rough out there and I was doing all I could to keep up with the fish coming and going over the side!

6 April 2013 / Pensacola Fishing Charter

Amazing trip this morning with the Marenette Family. We started out hoping to catch a few sheepehead and make a nice box of fish. We quickly started landing sheepies and in no time had a box full of fish.

We decided to ease out in the Gulf and look for Redfish and happened up on a giant school of Spanish. It was great to get back on some Mackerel! We were using pompano jigs for the macks and they were hitting them really aggresively!

Thank you very much to Joe and his wonderful Family for spending the day with me and........ The title of "quirky" seems to have stuck!!

This afternoon we had to work a little harder for our fish. The Spanish were still around but were not near as thick as they were in the morning. But we were able to fish the Pass hard and come up with a really nice box of Sheepshead.

Live Shrimp and sand fleas were both working very good this afternoon! Thank you Mr. Hensen for your business and I hope to see you Guys again in May!

South Again Charters / 5 April 2013 / Pensacola Beach Fishing

Another "For Hire' trip today with Mr. Converse.

George and I fish together quite a bit during the year and I always look forward to our trips. Today we were joined by Mr. Georges son and grand son for a quick sheepshead trip.

After waiting for the winds to die down we made the run to the Pass in Mr. Georges awesome 22' Sea Hunt Bay boat. We quickly got on a bite and landed enough for dinner and headed back home. Quick and easy trip this afternoon.

Thank you again for spending time on the water with me and I hope to see you again real soon Mr. George!

2 April 2013 / Pensacola Fishing Report

Another great trip with Team Johnson this morning. The bite started out a little slow, but once it fired off it was HOT. Today was a catch and release day with the Guys... my Fillet knife is very thankful as was I!

Thanks for spending another day on the water with me Guys and Ill see you in the morning!

Afternoon trip was alot of fun today as well! Fished with some great Guys from Michigan who could certainly fish. We caught a steady stream of Sheepshead for the first couple of hours, since this was a catch and release trip we decided to look for greener pastures. we headed out in search of spanish and found a few nice schools along the beach. We didnt have near as good luck with them so we headed back to the rocks to land a few more sheepies. A great afternopon for sure
